Travels with My Economist: Encounters with India

Author(s): Lisa Scott

Travel Narratives | NZ Biographies

Irreverent, laugh-out-loud tales of living and travelling in India. Join award-winning writer Lisa Scott and her economist as they experience the absolute hell and pure joys of India. Trading the quiet back streets of Dunedin for the heat and chaos of Bangalore, southern India, Lisa tells their story in her own inimitable style. From simply surviving crossing the road or the jam-packed buses, bikini waxes and the inevitable Delhi belly, to travelling to places as far flung as Goa, Delhi, Agra, Rajasthan and beyond, not to mention observations on such holy cows as, well, holy cows, bride suicides, female infanticide, the dowry question - this is India, no holds barred, warts and all. Very funny and highly readable - a 'travel' book, but different.
