School Guidance

Schools, Communities and Social Inclusion presents new research and practice in school-community engagement in Australia and New Zealand, providing a conceptual analysis of the role of schools, families and communities in facilitating collaboration for community education, development and social inclusion. Advocating school-community engagement as a means of addressing educational and social inequities, Schools, Communities and Social Inclusion promotes the core principles of trust, respect, recognition, participation, cultural responsiveness, taking time and the redistribution of power and resources. Organised around six key themes, this engaging and accessible resource uses projects, case studies, strategies and reflections on practice to identify school-community connections for students and practitioners in education and social work.
