Brain-Based Parenting: How Neuroscience Can Foster Healthier Relationships with Kids

Author(s): Daniel A. Hughes

Parenting

One of the biggest names in attachment therapy (and successful Norton author), Dan Hughes, teams up with a clinical psychologist with expertise in neurobiology to explain the underlying neuroscience of parenting. What happens neurochemically in the brain of parents and caregivers when they enjoy a strong, healthy rapport with their kids? And conversely, what's going on neurochemically when those bonds are impaired or broken? Drawing on a host of cutting-edge neuroscience research, this book, aimed at both clinicians and interested consumers, will answer these questions, and help us to better connect with kids and offer more effective treatment.
