ANNEMARIE FLORIAN has been a longtime advocate across the entire spectrum of children's literature and education - as curriculum designer, book awards judge, bookseller and librarian, as reader and writer. She enjoys engaging with others to celebrate and showcase our unique fauna.


Annemarie is a writer for young readers. Her previous book, Kiwi: The real story was the children's choice Non-Fiction winner in the 2013 New Zealand Post Children's book awards.


Award-winning illustrator/photographer TERRY FITZGIBBON is passionate about nature and has always strived to ensure Aotearoa's extraordinary native wildlife and habitats survive in today's challenging world. Terry's Master's thesis is on protecting forests and he has worked for both Forest & Bird and the Department of Conservation. 


Terry Fitzgibbon is an award-winning illustrator/photographer whose paintings and photographs have been successfully exhibited in galleries in New Plymouth, Auckland and Whangarei.
