Gerry Webb grew up on a farm near Cheviot, studied studied English and politics at the University of Canterbury, and was a Commonwealth Post-Graduate Scholar at the University of Toronto. He and his wife have been homesteaders in the Far North since the mid-'70s, raising vegetables and trees, beef cattle and bees, except for a long spell in Auckland where Gerry taught English language and literature at Unitec. His poems and reviews have appeared in various publications, including the Listener, New Zealand Books, Quote Unquote, Printout and Trout.
