Field Guide to NZ Epiphytes, Vines & Mistletoes

Author(s): Catherine L. Kirby

Gardening

This is the first field guide dedicated to New Zealand's unique vascular epiphytes, vines and mistletoes.  It provides information and photographs to assist the reader in identifying and understanding the diverse species that spend some or all of their lives living, or climbing on other plants.

Product Information

"Although New Zealand is in temperate latitudes, the type of native forest known as "bush" has many similarities to tropical forests, including our "Epiphytes, Vines and Mistletoes" treated in this book.

This is the first time in New Zealand that a book has been devoted to this special group of mostly flowering plants and ferns.  Perhaps this is partly because they are so difficult to reach in the tree tops.

The photos are of a high standard and were mostly taken by the author.
