She graduated from Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland with a BFA and later an MFA before continuing a thirty-year career as a professional artist. Her interest in creativity and learning led her to teach in tertiary education for over twenty years. Over the last ten years, informed by her experiences in creative practice as an artist and actor, Cathryn has developed a group learning practice aptly named “Practice Process.” Using interactive methods to facilitate the development of healthy group culture and collaborative learning practices, she enables group members to connect to their learning and to each other, building stronger, more meaningful working relationships. A common thread through Cathryn’s work is a passion for inquiry, engaged education, and a valuing of processes that meet and develop our human capacity for connection. These find expression in her book Spilt Milk Yoga, a book that connects mothers to their joy, purpose, and development amidst the daily challenges of motherhood.
