Crooked House

Author(s): Christobel Kent

Crime

Drawing comparisons to works by writers like Daphne du Maurier and P. D. James, this darkly atmospheric psychological thriller accomplishes what they do best: create an insular world where something sinister has occurred, and subtly inflect each page with the toxic residue of violence.
