Description

In this version of the Grimm Brothers' The Frog Prince, Kiri kicks her footy into the pond. It is retrieved for her by Archey the frog, who in return demands to sit on a soft pillow, eating chocolate fish and watching the rugby on the big-screen TV! Kiri's annoyance turns to surprise then joy, when, in the excitement of winning the game, she kisses Archey and he turns into an All Black!

Reviews

'A story that relate[s] well to children who already ha[ve] an interest and connection in their own lives to rugby, nature, farms, mud, food, fishing, family and our mighty All Blacks. Such strong connections creatively threaded together in rhyming, witty words are this book's real strength.' -- Julie King, Booksellers NZ 'This is another funny [Kiwi Corker] story with a nice rhythm. And best of all it contains illustrations that relate to our way of life.' -- Otago Daily Times 'The moral is sound, Chris Gurney's verses are bouncy and John Bennett's illustrations capture the fun of the tale.' -- Dominion Post
